About The Start Something Challenge

The Start Something Challenge (SSC) is a statewide pitch competition and business strengthening opportunity for New Jersey entrepreneurs. If you are interested in networking, perfecting your elevator pitch, gaining visibility for your business venture, and winning a $10,000 business grant, the Challenge is for you!

The Challenge is organized by Rising Tide Capital (RTC), a non-profit organization that helps underserved entrepreneurs start and grow successful businesses, and funded by a network of visionary supporters. More than just a business pitch competition, the Challenge also provides participants with opportunities to learn about local business resources, and receive hands-on coaching and mentorship. This ensures that every participant has the best-possible chance at winning the top prize. Free to enter, the competition is open to any New Jersey resident over 18 years old, who operates a business earning less than $250,000 annually, or has a strong business idea.
