Lights, Cameras, Learning!
Students enrolled in our Video Production Summer Camp at Stevens Cooperative School in downtown Jersey City create, produce, and star in their very own short film or video.
Students having fun as creators is fundamental to our short film production classes. We teach technical and soft skills – in a fun, accessible way – as students work together to self-produce their own short film or video highlighting each other and their interests.
We coach students to work in teams as they learn how to present, communicate, and express point of view, while building self-confidence and using lights, cameras, and sound to effectively tell a story.
Made By Students
After learning the basics and being introduced to our professional equipment, each student uses our custom production planners to outline, script, produce, and star in their own short film or video designed around our curriculum to progressively introduce new skills.
Their video productions are self produced, with students taking turns working in teams as script writers, directors, camera operators, and sound / light / producers to support the student starring on-screen, then rotate through those positions for the next student.
Students then help off-line edit and chose which of their performances they want featured in the for their final screening to parents and staff.
We have a blast as well, helping their creations come to life on screen and celebrating how much they learn!
