Scandinavian School of Jersey City

Scandi School Puts Creative Learning In Action (Block Party 2019)

JERSEY CITY, New Jersey, USA – June 1, 2019

Where can your kids have the freedom to explore, create, and experience education at the first first full-day Scandinavian school inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach to Early Childhood Education on the East Coast?

At the Scandinavian School of Jersey City (SSJC)!

Held on Saturday, June 1st, near Hamilton Park in Jersey City, NJ, Scandi school, as it's also affectionately known, recently hosted their Block Party to showcase their unique style of learning and give back to members of the community with fun, games, and food. It included a vibrant mix of recycled material experiences in-line with SSJC's Eco/Sustainability mission, screen printing, yoga and movement, plus a flea market and vegan Devonshire Tea. They even featured one of our favorite clients, Community Compost Company.

From their site:

The Scandinavian School of Jersey City is the first full-day Scandinavian school inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach to Early Childhood Education on the East Coast, serving children from 1 to 6 years old. In each classroom the children will be exposed to and learn a Scandinavian language, besides English. Our families are from global, multicultural, multilingual, urban and diverse communities. We aim to inspire our children to deeply connect with themselves and one another, giving them the tools they need to be independent, democratic, wholesome and empathetic citizens of the world.
